Live Evening Events: postponed until further notice

Sladers Yard is a private art gallery dedicated to exhibiting and selling contemporary British art, handmade furniture designed by Petter Southall and designer craft by leading artists, designers and makers. Sladers Yard presents a high quality changing programme of selling exhibitions throughout the year. We sell work directly from the artist so customers know when they buy from us that the artwork is genuine and that the money they spend  supports and provides a living for some of the most talented artists and makers working today. Between exhibitions we represent artists, often holding their paintings in stock and available to buy from this website, and where appropriate taking commissions for artworks. Please see individual artist pages for more information or contact the gallery on gallery@sladersyard.co.uk

Hi, you don’t seem to have a contact email for enquiries, please get in touch

  2. Jeremy Maidment says:

Although ‘Shapeshifter’ by Daisy Cook is shown on your Instagram page I cannot see it in the illustrations of her work on your website. Is it still available?

  3. Helen Garrett Solomons says:

    Dear Anna and Petter,
Hope all well with you. Looks like you have lots of exciting events going on at the moment.
Just to let you know that I am running a workshop ‘Turner and the Elements’ here in Wiltshire this Saturday and wondered if you would be interested in the workshop because it links to your exhibition. It may be be too late due to advertising. etc
I’ll try to attach the poster but not sure if it will work!

If you would like more information about it do let me know.

    With Kind Regards,

    Helen

    • Sladers Yard says:

      Thanks Helen,

This looks great. You might like to contact Bridport Museum who are co-ordinating Turner in Bridport. The leaflet is already printed unfortunately. Best of luck with the course!

Thank you for a super light lunch today. Esp the service given by the two young staff members present. Mike loved his ‘special’ chocolate drink.
The mosey round the gallery was the usual pleasure.

  7. Kate Dean says:

Have visited three years ago and am looking forward to seeing what will be on show this autumn.

  8. Last Saturday was very special. My favourite violin duo, Retorica, performing at Slader’s Yard, another favourite, coinciding with fantastic exhibition of works by Frances Hatch. What a Hat Trick! Thank you.

  9. Barbara Richardson says:

Thank you for a quite fabulous lunch today with an inspiring hour and a half of jazz from the Ian Smith Trio and Vimala Rowe. I particularly appreciated Ian’s personal memories of Harold Pinter and learnt more about him than I ever hoped to know. Lunch was delicious and the welcome genuine. Thank you to all and to the Bridport Literary Festival.

  10. Superb exhibition of Philip Sutton’s work in a loverly setting with an excellent lunch. What more could you ask?

  13. Mrs Lorraine Slydell says:

3 of us visited last Monday on our way from a dance weekend in Torquay and were very impressed with Petter’s furniture and also the artwork. The soup was great and I brought some delicious homemade Apple cake home with me.
I will treat myself to a mirror or something as I have just moved to a new modern house near the sea. I will definitely pay you a visit in Spring if possible.
    Thankyou for your hospitality.

  14. Peter says:

Your drop-down list of artists goes off the bottom of my screen, otherwise I think that it is a nice site with interesting artists.

    • Sladers Yard says:

Thanks for your comment and praise for the website. I am sorry you have had trouble seeing all the artists in the drop-down list. If you cannot scroll with any kind of wheel or scrolling device, you should be able to rest your cursor on Artists and move down with the arrow keys. WordPress websites should fit all kinds of screens so I am interested to know if this isn’t the case on your screen. Thanks, Anna

  15. penny says:

Ian Smith Trio superb on Sunday, accessible poetry and creamy jazz. More of the same. Well done! Do you have contact details for them?

  16. Peter French says:

Visited Sladers Yard recently. Petter Southall”s furniture absolutely amazing – the design and craftmanship. Seen nothing so inspiring since the John Makepeace exhibition.
