A warm welcome back to Anglo/Swedish band ‘House of Trees’ whose jazzy moody melodies and superb vocals have been selling out top jazz and folk clubs throughout Europe including Ronnie Scotts in London. With them comes the fabulous Ryan O’Reilly. Don’t miss the chance to hear them live in Bridport!

The House of Trees

Once upon a time some friends moved to a house made of, and  surrounded by, trees. Situated deep in the Swedish woodlands the house  is a hidden haven; a place where if no-one speaks one hears only the  sound of birds, a river and the wind in the trees. There is also the  sound of music…

Led by singer/songwriter Rob Coe, House of Trees explore the myriad moods of life – thoughts, dreams, places and people – in their often mythical fairytale songs. Djamila Skoglund Voss’s earthy yet ethereal voice combines with Bridport-born James Carnell on percussion and  Helena Sköld  on violin.

The atmosphere and emotion of their gigs is like a good home: warm and  cosy on the inside but outside the wind and the dark are knocking on  the door. The songs blend a heady mix of classical, folk and jazz music that draw parallels with Billie Holiday, Kurt Weill, and dark old-time Disney classics.
